The short version
- A single implant post in the US averages about $2,143 in CareCredit’s cost study, with a $1,646–$4,157 range, and that figure excludes the crown.1
- Colombian price guides list a complete single implant (post, abutment and crown) at roughly $900–$1,800, depending on city and source.2
- Tijuana listings put a complete single implant at about $1,000–$1,800, and an All-on-4 arch at $7,000–$12,000.3
- Published US All-on-4 figures disagree widely, from $15,176 in one cost study to $24,000–$40,000 per arch on comparison sites, so ask what each number covers.134
- Travel adds flights, lodging and usually two trips, and complications are harder to manage from home. The CDC advises seeing your own provider before you go.5
Dental implant prices are hard to compare because almost nobody publishes them the same way. One source prices the titanium post alone, another a "complete implant" with abutment and crown. This guide puts the published 2026 ranges for the US, Colombia and Mexico in one place and labels what each one covers. For a deeper look at a single tooth, see the single-implant cost page.
The 2026 price table, by treatment and country
All figures below are published ranges collected in October 2026 from cost studies and medical-travel marketplaces. They are snapshots, not quotes, and marketplace listings come from clinics that advertise on those platforms.
| Treatment | United States | Colombia | Mexico (border cities) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Implant post only | $1,646–$4,157 (avg. $2,143)1 | $800–$1,2002 | $750–$900 (Tijuana)3 |
| Complete single implant (post, abutment, crown) | $3,500–$5,5003 | $900–$1,8002 | $1,000–$1,800 (Tijuana)3 |
| Crown on the implant | $488–$3,254 by material1 | From $500 (one listed package)2 | Zirconia $400–$500 (Los Algodones)4 |
| All-on-4, one arch | $15,176 (cost study) to $25,000–$40,000 (comparison sites)14 | $5,500–$9,500 depending on city2 | $7,000–$12,000 (Tijuana)3 |
| All-on-6, one arch | No consistent published figure found | $8,000–$12,0002 | $9,000–$13,000 (Tijuana)3 |
| Full mouth (both arches) | $50,000–$90,0003 | See per-arch figures; roughly double | $14,000–$25,000 (Tijuana)3 |
USD. Sources and dates in the list below. "Roughly double" for full mouth is arithmetic on the per-arch range, not a published price.
The gap is biggest on full-arch work, and the US numbers vary so much that any "savings" headline depends on which US figure you start from.
United States: what the averages actually cover
The most-cited US benchmark is CareCredit’s cost guide, which reports a national average of $2,143 for a single tooth implant, with a range of $1,646 to $4,157, based on a 2024 Synchrony cost study conducted by ASQ360.1 Read the fine print: that figure excludes the crown, and the state table also excludes tooth extraction and office-related fees.1 State averages in the same guide run from $1,790 in Alabama to $3,565 in Hawaii.1
The same guide lists crowns separately at $488 to $3,254 depending on material, an endosteal implant with bone augmentation at $5,580 (versus $4,344 without), an implant-supported bridge at $5,195 and All-on-4 at $15,176.1 The bone-augmentation line is a useful reminder that grafting can add over $1,000 before the crown is even placed; the bone graft cost page goes further into that.
Other published US figures run higher because they price the whole tooth. The Medical Tourism Association gives $3,000 to $5,000 per implant in the US.6 PlacidWay lists a complete US implant at $3,500 to $5,500 and an All-on-4 arch at $24,000 to $30,000.3 RealDentalCosts, a comparison site, gives an average of $3,800 for a titanium implant and $25,000 to $40,000 per All-on-4 arch.4
A $2,143 "implant" and a $4,500 "implant" may be the same treatment priced at different stages. Before comparing countries, write down whether each number includes the CT scan, extraction, graft, abutment and final crown.
Colombia: Medellín, Bogotá and Cali
PlacidWay’s Colombia guide, with price data last verified in June 2026, lists the implant post alone at $800 to $1,200 and a complete single implant at $1,200 to $1,800 nationally.2 Its city breakdown is lower: $900 to $1,400 for a complete implant in Medellín and Bogotá, and $935 to $1,500 in Cali.2 The national and city ranges do not line up neatly, which is typical of marketplace data.
For full arches, the same guide lists All-on-4 at about $6,500 to $9,500 per arch in Medellín and Cali, and about $5,500 to $8,500 in Bogotá, with All-on-6 at $8,000 to $12,000 per arch nationally.2 The Medical Tourism Association gives a broader $800 to $1,500 per implant for Colombia.6
Some clinics list prices in pesos. One Medellín clinic on WhatClinic lists implants from COP 3,831,022 and All-on-4 from COP 28,732,664 to COP 33,840,693.7 At the official exchange rate of COP 3,148.02 per US dollar (October 28, 2026),8 that is roughly $1,217 for an implant and $9,127 to $10,750 for an All-on-4 arch. That is a single clinic’s listing, not a market average. If you are focused on Medellín, the Medellín destination page and the sister site MedellinDentalImplants.co cover clinics and logistics in more depth.
Mexico: Tijuana and Los Algodones
Mexico’s border towns are the closest option for many US patients. PlacidWay’s Tijuana page, updated in October 2026, lists a complete single implant at $1,000 to $1,800, the titanium post alone at $750 to $900, and the abutment plus crown at $500 to $900.3 It puts All-on-4 at $7,000 to $12,000 per arch, All-on-6 at $9,000 to $13,000, and a full-mouth restoration at $14,000 to $25,000.3
Bookimed’s Tijuana listings, also dated October 2026, give $750 to $1,100 for an implant treatment.9 For Los Algodones, RealDentalCosts lists a titanium implant at $750 to $1,000, a zirconia crown at $400 to $500, and All-on-4 at $8,110 to $11,000 per arch, based on its review of clinic price lists.4
On these numbers, Colombia and Mexico land in a similar band for single implants. Mexico’s main advantage for US patients is distance.
Want quotes that list the same line items, so the comparison is fair?
Compare quotesWhat a headline price usually leaves out
The biggest source of surprise bills is not the country. It is the scope of the quote. CareCredit’s figures exclude the crown, extraction and office fees,1 and PlacidWay notes that the abutment and crown may be billed separately from the post.2 Before you compare, check each quote for these items:
- Diagnostics: 3D cone-beam CT scan and consultation.
- Extractions of the failing tooth or teeth.
- Bone grafting or sinus lift, which the CareCredit data shows can add over $1,000 per site.1
- Abutment and crown, and which crown material is included.
- Temporary teeth during healing, especially for All-on-4.
- Follow-up visits and adjustments, and what happens if the implant fails to integrate.
Our cost-factors guide explains why these vary from case to case. If you already have quotes in hand, DentalQuote.co is a sister site focused on comparing them.
The travel math: when going abroad saves money
For a single implant, the published difference between a complete US implant ($3,500 to $5,500) and a Colombian or Tijuana one (roughly $1,000 to $1,800) is a few thousand dollars.32 Implants usually need about three to nine months to fuse with the bone before the final crown,10 so major implant work often means two trips.4 Two round-trip flights plus lodging can absorb much of the saving on one tooth, especially from cities without direct flights.
The math changes for full-arch work. With US All-on-4 figures of $24,000 to $40,000 per arch on comparison sites against $5,500 to $12,000 in Colombia and Mexico,342 the gap per arch can be larger than the cost of several trips. See the All-on-4 cost page or the sister site AllOn4Cost.co for full-arch detail.
The CDC advises medical travelers to see their own healthcare provider before traveling, get copies of their records, and plan for follow-up care at home. It also advises agreeing in advance how complications will be handled, and checking whether follow-up costs extra.5 A dentist who has examined you decides whether implants suit you and whether travel is reasonable for your case.
How to compare quotes across countries
- Get your own records first. A recent panoramic X-ray or CT scan lets every clinic quote the same case.
- Ask for an itemized plan with the number of implants, the implant brand, grafting, abutments, crown or bridge material and temporaries listed separately.
- Ask how many trips and how many days each stage needs, then price flights and lodging for each one.
- Ask what happens if an implant fails: is replacement included, for how long, and do you pay travel costs?
- Ask a local dentist whether they will see you for check-ups and repairs on work done abroad, and what parts they can source.
The dental tourism guide covers planning the trip, and the methodology page explains how this site collects prices.

Is the US average of $2,143 for a whole implant?
How much is a single implant in Colombia in 2026?
PlacidWay lists a complete single implant at $900–$1,400 in Medellín and Bogotá and $1,200–$1,800 nationally, with price data verified in June 2026.2 These are marketplace ranges, so get an itemized quote for your own case.
Is Mexico or Colombia cheaper for All-on-4?
Does going abroad make sense for one implant?
Often it is close. The published saving on one complete implant is a few thousand dollars, and most implant plans need two visits, so flights and lodging can absorb much of it. Full-arch work is where the gap is large enough to cover travel more easily.
