How we build dental implant cost benchmarks
Our goal is to separate sourced benchmarks from provider quotes, and to tell you when two numbers are not directly comparable.
1. We prefer component-level numbers
A headline “implant price” can hide whether the crown is included. When a source separates fixture and crown costs, we keep them separate and show the arithmetic explicitly.
2. We label commercial marketplace data
Dental Departures is a marketplace, not an independent public-health price database. We use its Medellín page as a current market snapshot and identify it that way rather than treating it as a guaranteed local average.
3. We use clinical sources for clinical claims
Procedure, healing, candidacy and risk descriptions are cross-checked against Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and peer-reviewed research. We do not use price-comparison pages to establish medical claims.
4. We do not turn an estimator into a diagnosis
The calculator flags potentially important variables such as grafting or extractions but does not assign them a price without a treatment plan.
5. Provider matching is separate from editorial methodology
Providers may compensate this site for qualified inquiries or future affiliate relationships. That does not change the published cost methodology or clinical-source selection.
